Is there any way to make a 5-peice catagory gradient?

And how do you edit the buttons?

i don't know what a 5-peice catagory gradient is, can't help you there.

The buttons? the image buttons? such as "new thread" , "new reply" "quote", etc? the submit buttons?

We mean a gradient which can be split into several peices to fill the resolution (sp?) of the end users screen. For example;
