Well, will my current theme of MyBB 1.4 work for the 1.6? Or I have to convert some variables of the theme?

You'll likely need to change some things to make sure that it works properly.

Almost. The vast majority of it will be fine, but there will be a few new templates, maybe a few new CSS classes. It won't be as major as 1.2 > 1.4 though, you'll need to some work to it, but nothing huge.

I test my theme on the 1.6 SVN and things that dont work properly are:

Notepad on the User CP, Prefix on Forums, some minor details but the theme work with major changes
