Um, I don't find that new design much different.
Yes, it's a bit cleaner, but not a whole lot better.

Also, I read the thread about "PokeBoard", that's pretty funny.
Poke itself is a very commonly used prefix when naming Pokemon forums.
LovelyAnon made an excellent point, sorry if this is off-topic.

Btw, as for the design, work on matching the thead and tfoot.
New on/off/offlock icons and new post buttons (e.g. New Thread, New Reply, etc)

The logo background doesn't blend in, so maybe just make it transparent.

Design is nice, just not appropriate for a pokemon forum. It needs to be a little more 'happy' and colorful, no?
