I have a question:
Will there be a shoutbox that comes with it that ACTUALLY has some features like /ban and /kick ?
This would be a great feature for MyBB.
Considering that a shoutbox is not default functionality in MyBB I doubt it but maybe ask the current shoutbox plugin developer if he can add that.
I know that, you don't need a advanced tutorial to fix a theme.
Did anyone say advanced anywhere? I simply stated that if no offical tut on fixing themes was made, i'd make one myself.
There is no need for a tut, i believe you change two numbers and your done, what's a tutorial needed for.
You must see the amount of people who don't know where the templates are in the ACP. This will simply help upgrading.
You don't need to change it like that, you can open up the xml file and do it like that and you use the search to find 1.4.

I know, but don't delete that themes template set.
For theme developers, instructions for upgrading your themes will be made available. It will be the same method for every version since MyBB PR2.
