Someone should create a plugin where the clan tag is shown before the username in the post bit, member list view, and profile view.

I don't think a plugin would really be needed though.
As Mark said, just create a custom profile field and then add it to the postbit template(and the other templates)(there is a tutorial for doing this somewhere).

I would love to see this as a plugin! Seeing that this is extremely popular with vbulletin forums I think a lot of people would find it very useful within the mybb community as well.
