OK.

So the game developer I run a fansite for is expanding to two more games this year, I'm planning on getting a new domain, transferring my files to that new domain and having different sub-domains for different game forums but I want to use the same user base.

Is this realistic? Could I do it?

Of all the people that have asked nobody has ever managed to do it.

I tried to do this with my site. I got fairly far along, but hit a wall when getting to the forum_bit portion that does not let me limit the output to specific sections (new field that would be mapped to a subdomain identifier) without core file edits. No way to bypass it with a plugin either.
