I realized that I didn't enable the page in the settings

It would be a lot easier to just use the Help Docs to make a FAQ page. All you need to know is some basic HTML and you can look up things about how to use HTML at http://w3schools.com

It worked fine for me when I changed the compatibility line. I haven't done a whole lot of testing, but I have yet to run into issues with it for simple use.

This plugin allows you to convert custom pages of various page plugins into Page Manager pages.

Seems like this does not work anymore. I have entered what was required to enter.

I am on 1.8x and mine is still working (link).

How can I embed elFinder file manager in one of these custom pages?
