Im using MyBB for a forum for an online game with "clans". Im wondering if there is a way that when a user signs up, they can fill in a "clan code" field (given to them by the group leader) and then by default get added to that group and subsequent access to the respective areas that group is privledged to access.

That could work, or at least be a good base to build upon, but say you wanted to control access to the user groups, or their resources (which ever), some kind of "password" or "code" would need to be employed.
I've been really busy lately, and exams are next week, but if I have time I will create this. It will be a simple plugin.
