Agreed,, VB themes are often complex and there aren't many converted themes available to MyBB, especially for free if you want something that has VB features such as the welcome block then go here and look.

Before I resquest this, now I understand that MyBB is Awesome and best that vBulletin if you want some similar search in the mods section.
