I want my moderators to be able to edit posts with a [mod] code and have that code uneditable by anyone but a moderator.

Also I notice when I go to edit a post..my username is shown in the edit mode and not the user. When I save it's correct but that's still a small bug.

Any one have that code?

I don't understand your first question.

Secondly, go ACP > Configuration > Posting and make sure Show 'edited by' Messages and Show 'edited by' Message for Forum Staff are set how you want them.

This plugin adds a code that only moderators and admin can use. It also locks the post so that it can't be edited after a moderator has edited it. http://www.mybbcentral.com/thread-1720.html

Exactly. I don't have some magical search engine to find plugins. I can find the same plugins as you. There is a mycode somewhere around but anyone can use it (not just mods). Google it.
