Why does only the index.php link work but not the first link? Any ideas?

Either you have another file in the directory which is called index.html (or possibly home.html or another variation of that) or your host is not configured to use index.php as a default directory page.

Yea, it was the index.html file that was in there. I had a feeling it had something to do with that file but I wanted to make sure. The file was empty and I've no idea where it came from. I use an index.php file though.

Well delete the index.html file and your site should work properly, it was probably in there from before you uploaded your forum.
