I am assuming the thanks button is put there by a plugin, try deactivating then activating the plugin again.

So you have tried completely deactivating (and uninstalling if possible but you might loose data) and activating it? It is possible that what the plugin uses to find and replace isn't present or is modified in your theme. You should contact the author of the plugin.
