Hello Guys, I have very strange problem on my forum.

It is when i or any user copy and paste something and post on my forum. then there are unwanted characters like � this one and unwanted slashes..

even if i write or paste %system/user/abc it will be written %system//user//abc after submitting the post..
and even i have tried editing them...but nothing changes..
and not only in threads but also there are unwanted (/) in announcement box..i have tried editing 100 times..but nothing change.(/) then too comes.

So please help me out..

To fix the unwanted slashes you need to ask your host to disable magic quotes.

The � is usually caused by an unrecognized character, do this appear when you try and type any character in particular?

no...sometimes it appear and sometimes not...but can you tell me why this happened suddenly? i mean if my host has enabled magic quotes then why this happened before? i have this forum from about 4 months..but what happened suddenly??

please tell me.

It's only started happening now because they've just upgraded to PHP 5.3, and magic quotes does not work with PHP 5.3.
