I just moved hosts. and done what the guide here said. everything seems to work fine. i went to the cpanel to redirect the main domain to a /forums/. i did it. but whenever i try to go to the site. a redirection loop shows.

help plz? i heard that i might be able to redirect it manually through the htacces ??

plz help.
You must already have a redirect setup if there's a redirect loop, try removing that first.
in my new host. i dont have any. its the first one i do. Confused
however, i had one in my old host. and when i downloaded and then reuploaded the forum to the new host. i didnt remove that.

is that the reason? and how would i be able to remove it now?
There has to be another redirect somewhere or it wouldn't be redirecting in a loop. Remove any redirects you can find, in any .htacccess files or in cPanel itself, cPanel has a feature for redirects.
Only one htaccess file found. and thats its code:

Options -MultiViews +FollowSymlinks -Indexes

checked the cpanel redirect feature. no redirects there. ive removed them all Confused
and when i try making a new one, the loop appears.

Edit: found another htaccess file.

tats the code:

# -FrontPage-

IndexIgnore .htaccess */.??* *~ *# */HEADER* */README* */_vti*

<Limit GET POST>
order deny,allow
deny from all
allow from all
</Limit>
<Limit PUT DELETE>
order deny,allow
deny from all
</Limit>
AuthName bees.shockv2.com
AuthUserFile /home/beessho/public_html/_vti_pvt/service.pwd
AuthGroupFile /home/beessho/public_html/_vti_pvt/service.grp

anything i should delete?
Right, what settings are you putting in when you make a redirect??
i am using the cpanel redirect feature. it says: Add Redirect:http://bees.shockv2.com/[space] redirected to [space]

i leave the first space blank. and on the second space am putting the link: http://bees.shockv2.com/H/forums/

this way it should redirect the: bees.shockv2.com to the bees.shockv2.com/H/forums/ right?
bump?
Can you not wait 5 minutes for a reply without having to try and bump?? Seriously??

Can you printscreen the redirect setup page so I can see what the settings are??
Sorry.

hmmm. just tried redirecting Bees.shockv2.com/H/ to Bees.shockv2.com/H/forums/ and it worked

looks like the problem is only with redirecting the main domain; Bees.shockv2.com
