Clean you cookies. I'm sure there was a topic on how to clean your cookie somewhere.
But with IE it's Tools->Internet Options->Delete Cookies
or if you use FF 1.5 you can use Tools->Clean Private Data
If neither of those work, IE stores the cookies in C:\Documents and Settings\_user_\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files. Not sure where FF stores it's stuff but it's good for cleaning out junk if it says it will.
So, it is normal that logout isnt' working? I mean, after logout i should be brought to page where i have to input username and password agan, not come back to cp home page.
Logging out of Admin CP and the main forums are two different things if you are logging out of the forums and not the Admin CP.
And you are using RC4 so you can expect some bugs.
I'd wisely suggest upgrading and seeing if that fixes you problem as soon as you can
