I getting fustrated a bit, I have made a theme for someone with the speech bubble on the posbit but I don't want it on the PM message (when your readin a pm) and its using the postbit template by default, how would I change it so it uses a custom template?

You'd need to edit the PHP, that's just the template it uses.

private.php where it outputs the message??
