I just gave Second Life a 'second chance', after ignoring it for ~2 years.

Yes
EDIT: The new Second Life Viewer 2 seems to have problems with being really slow, with a 'standard' video card.
EDIT #2: SL could be great for science and live conferences, but their software still sucks and is almost unusable even on a high-speed connection.
