Hey, I have just installed a mybb forum and it installed fine. But when it comes to view the index it asks me if I want to down load index.php the index.php in cpanel is CHMOD to 755 and it doesn't work. Can anyone suggest anything?

you never should recive this message. did you download it and view its content? is it empty or contained html sources?

I downloaded the file and it is just the index.php file. What is the index.php meant to be CHMOD to?
Try having it set on 777 or 644, what happens then?

It does support php, I had a forum on earlier but it got deleted.
Can you try to reupload the forum in 'ASCII' mode? (should be a setting in your FTP client), or just reupload the files if you can't find ASCII/binary mode.
