I had this same issue, I resolved it by moving my custom footer coding below this in the footer template:
<!-- The following piece of code allows MyBB to run scheduled tasks. DO NOT REMOVE -->{$task_image}<!-- End task image code -->
Check if you have custom coding above it, and try moving it below this.
It worked for me.
