The last time I get in the mail error message:

SQL Error: 2006 - MySQL server has gone away

although at that time I have not accessed the forum. My iud is 1. Is someone trying to hack my forum or what?

No, the MySQL server is just down, you need to ask your host. Someone was probably just viewing your profile or something.

As Matt said the MySQL server is down. Before bugging your host check their forums (if available) for it may just be an update. If not wait about half an hour and if it's still down shout at them down the phone line (don't shout at your host if it's a free host, not a very good idea lol)
