Hi, I know i've posted this in the wrong section so sorry about that.
Anyways, I'm trying to make my own forum software.
And i'm wanting to use the Mybb Open Source, So i go to the source site but where do i put all of the files and that?
I'm so confused.

Well of course it's legal, it's open source. It doesn't matter what you do with it at a personal level really. Edit whatever you want, just when it comes to redistribution it's a little more complex.
LOL! Yes, it's legal to edit MyBB or anything else under the GPL and similar licenses for that matter.

Erm, are you really sure you want to attempt to make "your own" forum software?
I was going to say, if you needed to know where to put the files, if you're allowed to edit it and what redistribution is, are you really ready to fork and fully support a forum system of your own??
