How can I ad a different footer for all pages (except the index page)?

How different do you want to want to make it? You could just change the home page footer by going ACP > Templates & Styles > Templates > Select template > Index Page Templates > Index and remove the {$footer} and add in your new footer for the index page. Make sure you include the MyBB copyright in your new footer, otherwise you won't be eligible for support here.
