Maybe make the black border the same gray as the background. Right now it's a bit too high contrast.

I could get some inspiration from that guy though!

YEah I said in the description that I have a sport site with wp, and i did the theme like the index, but I had to rewrite the CSS because it didn't work.. i started from the base mybb theme.
I took from the wp theme:
- The logo
- the width and height (To fit the site)
- the button bar
