I can't change any settings in my forum.

I click save and it just goes back to the old settings.
Make sure ./inc/settings.php is CHMOD to 666.

it is. It is using the db same as my wordpress with prefix mybb_.

I can make posts and edit my usercp and forum end just can't do anything on admin end
Delete the file and let it regenerate, see what values are written to it.

Delete settings.php and reupload it? Or just delete it?

Also I'm hosted on hostgator if that can help.
Just delete it, when the system detects it doesn't exist it'll regenerate it with the settings values from the database.
It regenratrd to 644

changed it to 666 but still same
So if you turned your board offline it doesn't turn it offline??
Correct and same for any other settings aswelll
When you deleted settings.php did it write anything to it again?? If it did then there shouldn't be any problems...
