Hi everyone, I'm having some problems with both of my mybb forums:

- http://muslimwebmasterforum.com (mybb 1.4.11)

^Doesn't load the main page properly because it just shows a blank white screen. You have to search a thread in google and click it to view the forum. After that, everything is fine.


AND

- http://gamingfor.us (mybb 1.4.12)

^Emails to activate accounts aren't going out to people.

How can I fix these problems?

Also, how do I update the forums? I can't find a simple way. I thought that all I do is upload the update patch files and overwrite the existing ones, but my FTP keeps on saying "the file already exists" (I'm using LunarPages).

As far as updating goes, just follow the instructions on which files to upload and overwrite the existing ones. The instructions for updating 1.4.11 -> 1.4.12 are in the download under 'Documentation' and the instructions for the 1.4.12 -> 1.4.13 patch are simply to upload the included files, overwriting the existing ones.

Of course the file already exists, the changed files package contains modified versions of the files, which need to overwrite the old version.

The directory your forum is in has a file called index.html (from what I can see). Delete that and it should work.

And it also appears that your index template is empty. ACP -> Templates and Style -> Templates -> Your theme -> Index Templates. Click the menu next to the template called index and click revert to default.

The weird blank screen is happening with my mybb forum: http://GamingFor.Us X( lol. And that index.html file isn't there, but there is an index.php < isn't that supposed to be there though?

Both of your websites are loading just fine for me.

Yeah, it's really weird. It happened for both sites. They had the main page blank, but now they're both fine (I didn't do anything).

Then ask your host what happened.

Did you run that mail test?

Yep, all mail being received in a timely manner.
