Is there any way to add a new block to it?
If so, can someone please show me how?

Thant works great with the forum index page, but I need the plugin for the portal, which will allow me to put new boxes on it.

oh the portal news, yah umm I wonder if thats a plug-in or its a default function that you may be able to do without any modifcations?

What do you want in the new block?
