I don't know if this is the appropriate forum, but I'm why my Alexa toolbar, as well as the actual site say "426,003" whereas the actual checked Alexa (on many sites) is 162,449.

who cares it's all pointless info anyway.
I agree, especially since sites with mass amounts of visitors with Alexa bars seem to grow a lot faster.
But to some investors, it's always "Ok, so daily uniques? Mmhmm, how about that Alexa..? Oh wait, I'll check"
I've always hated Alexa and it's own little ranking system. Doesn't even make sense, and it's completely useless as it only tracks people who have the Alexa toolbar installed.
They should just drop it completely.
I think it is a good service and i like it a lot. I think it is good for website comparison.
I trust it.
It would be reliable if everyone used the alexa toolbar. Which I'm pretty sure the majority of the web doesn't.
