I'm using MyBB V1.4.9 and have Registration Method set to Administrative Activation. However, where can i put an email address to notify the administrator that someone requires activation.

You'll need this: http://mods.mybboard.net/view/email-about-new-members

Also you shouldn't be running 1.4.9, it's over 7 months old, 1.4.13 is the latest release.
