You have SEO Urls turned on. Nothing wrong with that so long as everything works.

It still works with SEO enabled; all that does is create a more human-readable URL in order to get a higher ranking in search engines.

But SEO wont work if he doesn't remember to rename his htaccess.txt to .htaccess on his server. So that was probably his issue.

What actually is the problem in that xD ?

Don't understand why you've disabled SEO rewrites, if Google was indexing those it will have to reindex again and you lose PR. You should have kept it on SEO rewrites.

Nothing is wrong with a SEO written URL. All that happens is the links change to .html instead of .php with parameters, but user-1.html is still member.php?action=profile&?uid=1
