I have punbb 1.3.4 installed and running since 2008.
But it's not much under development anymore and I was wondering if it is possible to migrate to mybb without losing users/groups/permissions/avatars/signatures/posts ..etc..

Our merge system (http://mybb.com/downloads/merge-system) supports merging from punBB 1.2.x. I'm not sure how much difference there is between punBB versions, if it's significant the merge probably won't work. Alternatively you can try converting to SMF first then to MyBB.
