In our admin cp where recent news is posted by the mybb team, how does it get there if you dont have access to our account?

It's stored on our own servers and is not remotely hosted so how do you post new information there?

It requests the information from our website.

Does that work like API then?

Nope. It uses files on the mybb.com server to trace back the info.
