I have 195GB left. How much should I partition for ubuntu linux?
Depends on what your going to use it for.

If your using it for programs/regular use on those programs, put 100gb

If it's just for testing, 15gb
Using it for regular use. I'm going to do that now then.
Ubuntu is currently wasting space on my HDD. Linux is boring.

You game on windows? Then yes it is.

@OP, you need about 70 gigs (If you plan on using 5 gigs for ubuntu. 6-9 other WM/DE 5-15 progams )
No Linux just doesn't offer me anything I can't do with Vista.

Moved to appropriate forum.

Just an FYI, if the thread isn't a test thread and doesn't belong anywhere else other than an off-topic, try posting it in the Chit-Chat forum. Smile
I usually allocate around 20GB of space for my linux partitions (100MB /boot, 1024MB swap, rest /). It's actually the same amount of space I allocate for my Windows OS parition. Smile

So just go...
20GB for your Windows OS (C: )
20GB Linux paritions (/boot, swap, /)
Rest as an NTFS partition shared by Windows and Linux. Wink
