I want to have a group of users "Sponsors" that can ALWAYS edit their own threads BEYOND the 30 minute limit. Is there any way to keep the 30 minute limit for registered users but allow one group to edit only their own threads?

It's unlimited by default.

You'll need a plugin, it's not possible with the default setting.
any volunteers to write a plugin that does this? i'm willing to donate funds to see that it gets done...

Most likely, it doesn't seem like it would be that hard, since it could use existing code. (I think i dunno, not sure how i'm even thinking atm lol) just wait for someone to drop by.
