How do I make a translucent container instead of the colors (e.g. white)
make a png translucent image of like 50x50 px in photoshop and upload it to your theme directory.
go to your theme > global.css > .container >
and add this in background column
url(images/yourtheme/yourimage.png)

Just to be 100% sure, you know what translucent is and that's what you meant right? I'm thinking you might mean transparent.
Make a gray color image in Photoshop, and make the Fill to 50-40%. That image will be called translucent because it will not complete see through but it will show some colors from background and adopt with it.
