Is there a way so that when a user hovers over a post title in a forum they get a balloon popup with the start of the text from the first post?
I have seen it on another forum (think it was a vb one)

Not sure if you can get it to display like that but here is a link to a plugin that shows the text from first post. Guess you could ask the developer of that plugin if it is possible. I run this plugin on my own forum.
