I searched for vb.net in godaddy (to see if it was backordered) and it says the "domain is not valid". Also a few website stat calculators say the domain is not valid.

Strange. I can't find out how short a domain can be, but I guess this is why it says its invalid Smile

You can get single lettered or numbered domains. There is one www.3.ly

.COM, .NET, and .ORG are restricted to no less than 3 characters if I remember correctly. Other domains restrictions are inforced by their country.

Well I have a feeling the really short ones were before registrars worked like they do today. And, thus they were bought under different rules as vb.net is taken barnes and nobles own bn.com Big Grin.
