Ok, so my forum loads my newthread.gif from images/english/newthread.gif how do i change the path to images/english/newthread.PNG

You need to make core template edits thats all I know, I do not know which templates, sorry.

This shouldn't be in the theme releases either.
To make this work, you have to save the image as a .png then using filezilla or something you can rename the image to .gif, works just as well.
