wondering if it's possible to convert a yabb board using yabb version 2.1 to mybb?!? absolutely HATE yabb.
Actually we don't support A YaBB to MyBB convertor.

For more information, refer http://mybb.com/downloads/merge-system
There are a couple workarounds.

For example, is it really a big forum you need to convert? If not, just start from scratch and invite your old members.

But if it's a considerably active forum, then convert YaBB to SMF, and then SMF to MyBB.
Have a look here: http://download.simplemachines.org/?conv...tware=yabb (download the "Yabb 2.1 to SMF 1.1.11" converter).

The last resort is paying for a custom merger. I know ralgith does custom mergers. But if you're not willing to pay for a merger, then you better go with the solutions above.

Kind regards,
faviouz

it is a large forum..over 400,000 posts. I still have to talk with the owner to see if he'd actually want to do it, but I'm hoping so..yabb is horrible.
YaBB is one I do plan on creating a module for. However, only for the db install, not the flat file install. I MIGHT add flat file support later, but that would require a LOT of custom code since the MyBB Merge software Engine itself doesn't support Flat Files.
Oh, but I don't have time right now and wont for a couple months. Sorry Sad
What's YaBB :/

It's an interesting solution, only reason I didn't even consider using it is because it's Perl, and the hosting I had to work with pretty much restricted my choices to PHP only. Technically it's more advanced than many of the PHP alternatives.

@Shemo,
If indirect forum conversion (via another forum system) does not yield satisfactory results, and you're willing to donate $100, I'd be happy to make an Open Source YaBB2 -> MyBB 1.4 converter. I've done converters for exotic forum systems (RapidForum and MyLittleForum) in the past. My converters are not Merge System modules but stand alone solutions written in Python. PM me if you're interested.

still waiting on a reply from the forum admins.
Even if it does get added to the list of planned by Ryan I wouldn't expect it for awhile. Right now his focus is on 1.6 and then probably updating the merge system for 1.6.

That! Big Grin
Finishing and fixing MyBB 1.6 is currently in the foreground, so everything else is put in the back.
