How do I change the New Thread, Quote, Reply and those other kinds of buttons in my forum?

If not accessing the directory, how?
You could edit the CSS to point to different images. But I'm not 100% sure if all buttons are done via the CSS or are actually on the templated output.
You would have to edit the templates to set different images.
