I know you guys must be getting tired of us asking questions about this. Maybe a sticky for use to post in?

Anyway,

I had an idea which 41shots said wouldun't be allowed but I'ma post it here anyway.

Right now I'm working on a theme, Clean and Simple. It will be released tomorrow, for Free. Put into Mods Database, etc.

However, this is the 'Lite Version' as I am working on a much more extensive version. Includes a colour changer, jQuery, etc.

I'm wondering If I am allowed to release the 'Lite' Version and in the thread, talk about the option to upgrade to premium version.
I would personally see no problem with that as long as the main theme is released for free. (It's a bit like copyright removal but just add-ons).

Exactly. And yeah, the main theme would be released free, just the Premium version just more features.
You would be required to release your first version F/OSS then through user feedback, ratings, you would qualify yourself to be able to release an updated commercial version (like 1.0.0 would be your initial F/OSS, and if you qualify, 1.1 can be your commercial version).

But we can't do that yet, right? (or did I miss another blog post?)

No, I think he means theoretically to be conforming to F/OSS philosophy.
