Hey,

Im trying to add a Mybboard to my community, but when im trying to install the forum it comes up the Avatars file is not writeable and tells me to change the CHMOD permissions... so i try to do that... its 766 and i need to change it to 666 but it wont change...

Anyone know why?

Which folder do you try? images/avatars or uploads/avatars. Last one is for custom uploaded avatars. Afaik uploads & uploads/avatars must be writeable.

EDIT: with 0766 it dosn't work for me - only if folder has 0777

It seems every time a new version of MyBB is released it tells you to CHMOD ./uploads and ./uploads/avatars to 666. Obviously this doesn't work (I've wasting a lot of space on my "boss"'s server figuring that out. You MUST CHMOD the above to 777 or it won't work.

Folder's must be chmoded to 777, 666 doesn't work for folders, it works for files
as to add the list/execute permission u should use 777, which is required for folders
