MyBB Community Forums

Bob Jansen recently closed one of my threads in that forum because I was trying to buy posts for it. My forum does not run MyBB. Didn't know that you have to have a MyBB forum to use that forum to buy/sell/trade services. Here's the forum's description:

In the description it says these advertising services are for MyBB users. That can be take different ways. For me, I read it and thought that you are able to advertise your services to MyBB users. What is the actual meaning of this. Does it mean you have to have a MyBB forum to even post in this forum. Or does it mean all services you post must have something to do with MyBB. If that's the case, the why are these threads allowed:

The list can go on and on. So please, somebody please explain what is allowed in that forum and not allowed and if possible update the forum description because it's pretty vague.

This is a MyBB Support Forum, why would you want assistance for anything but MyBB here?

Did you read the thread? I'm not looking for MyBB forum assistance. I'm asking, in regards to my thread, why was it closed and why aren't those other threads (which also not related to MyBB) closed. All of these threads are in this forum, not the showcase forum which I know only allows MyBB forums.

I would assume that as long as you aren't requesting stuff for something like vBulletin or other competing software then it should be fine.

Thanks Polarbear, that makes a lot of sense. I was requesting stuff posts for my forum, which doesn't run on MyBB

I think Dennis Tsang needs to clarify this and update the rules.
