I have been asked to look at the myBB installation at http://www.thepurpleunit.com/forums.

The main admin user can log on to the admin page but then if they try to go anywhere else they get an authorisation error and a 404 error all in 1.

I have created a myBB installation on my computer and then reproduced their system on my computer as well. A fresh install works fine but then, if I import the data from the existing system the fault arises.

I then recreated the clean install and tested; everything is fine. Yet if I simply insert the user data from the existing system into this system (so, run a SQL instruction within PHPmyAdmin to INSERT the fields) I do not get the error but I have to log in every time I go to a new admin page.

Equally I am aware that the system would assign new UIDs to each user and so linkage to the forum posts and threads would be lost. I'll solve that one later.

Any ideas?

Answer is at the top of the forum.

Edit ./inc/settings.php, change youe cookie domain to .thepurpleunit.com and your cookie path to /forums/

Then clear your browser cookies, login to the ACP, which you'd be able to do now, and edit them again.
