I just downloaded the latest release of MyBB and noticed that the link in the footer is still mybboard.net.
This should be fixed.
MyBB 1.6 Gold will have the correct link. It is not recommened that you use MyBB 1.6 Beta on a live forum, so it is not really an issue.
Currently some things such as mods site are still .net so when everything is done, and 1.6 is gold, the copyright will be updated
mybboard.net redirects to mybb.com anyway, what's the problem?
i changed mine to mybb.com

You can change the copyright however you want, as long as there is a link leading here I believe.
My copyright points to mybb.com and I don't remember changing it. :s
You're allowed to change it, as long as it says 'Powered by MyBB' or something to that effect and links back. Changing mybboard.net to mybb.com is fine.
You don't really need to change it, mybboard.net redirects to mybb.com
