Hello I'm A NooB !

Say I just signed on with my 1st Host

I'm a Complete Idiot when it comes to computers

My host offers phpbb and smf only

Question: How do I download MyBB directly to my New site ????

I was told by my Host that I have fantastico

and that I can add mybb to my site

But they want to charge me for it

How do I do it myself ?

Throw me a Bone wouldjah ?

I really like your software

and the support seems Fantastic

Thank you !
1. Download 1.4.13 from the downloads page.
2. Upload to your host.
3. Extract.
4. Rename "Upload" to whatever you want to call it.
5. Navigate to yoursite.com/yourforumname/install/
6. Install like normal

Who's your host that costs extra for a superior forum script? Seriously?

First of all

Thank you ! Sir

As far as what cost's extra

I could'nt tell you

Realize that I know Nothing, lol truely

My host is GatorHost

Do I extract from Fantastico ?

I've never seen a Cpanel before

Thanks !
Fantastico is just an auto-installer. What I do to upload is use the File Manager inside cPanel. Click "Upload" on the top and choose the .zip file of MyBB. Then right-click the newly-uploaded .zip file and select "Extract." Two folders will be made: Documentation and Upload. The latter is the actual forum, the former is just for reference.

Well when I download from the download page

all I'm getting is a Notepad full of script ?????

instead of an Archive file like my Host told me

They think that it is this site that is having problems

Dunno

As I said follow these directions http://wiki.mybboard.net/index.php/Installing

If you can follow those directions than I am afraid your not capable of running a forum.
Archive: /home/xxxxx/public_html/mybb_1413-2.zip
error [/home/xxxxxxx/public_html/mybb_1413-2.zip]: missing 453265328 bytes in zipfile
(attempting to process anyway)
error [/home/vxxxxxxxxx/public_html/mybb_1413-2.zip]: attempt to seek before beginning of zipfile
(please check that you have transferred or created the zipfile in the
appropriate BINARY mode and that you have compiled UnZip properly)

Well this is what I'm seeing in Cpanel
extract and ftp them up.
