I am not sure about duplicating this thread. but i know that it is a bug.
why users should know what is in a forum that is not exists??
The archive forums are READ-ONLY, so it's logical users can see what is in there. They just can't post there.
what do you meant about it's logical users?
my question is what is a "none existant forum" and its feature?

what we mean by read-only and as peter explained, that the members can read what's in there, but they can't reply , or post new things, this is not so special it is done throught the forum permissions.

however the none-existant forum, is what's known in forum settings as Forum Is Active?, it will disapear,like a deleted one!! but it keep all the info in it, as i can turn it on back later.

moreover the Forum Is Open? will disallow whoever from posting, but i still shows on the forums list.
