Hello,

I searched for the solution to moving users from one group to another. What I found was advise to setup a promotion with a post count of, say 5, and then run the Promotion Task.. thus anyone with more than 5 posts will get into the promotion I added.

However, it isn't working. I tried rebuilding cache/counters ,etc etc

How do you do this?

Can you tell me what steps you took?

Sure...
1. Group Promotions...
* Made new one
* Set post count to 5, left other settings as is
* Set it so user is moved from original group to the group I want them to move to
2. Went to task manager
* Ran Promotion System
* I have min set top 30, hours to 6,12,24 and month to 6,12,24
(Actually, I could live with the defaults but somehow I deleted them and had the above in the fields, what are the defaults)

That's it. Nothing changed though... users remained in their old user group, despite most of them having more than 5 posts.

I ran the various rebuild/recount tools as well
I also ran the cache manager

nothing
