Why 9.10? 10.04 is LTS now.

Don't! Seriously, its crap. If i'd known how bad 10.04 is, i would not have updated. Give it some more time.

10.04 runs fine for me.
It's a little slow, but that's just my computer.

Yup, I agree. Don't bother.

I did the same thing, W7 and Ubuntu 10.04 DO NOT go together.

I have it working on my setup (which is an HP AMD64 with Win7)... After about 4 hours.

10.04 has some problems with the internet sometime mainly caused by ipv6
