Performance wise is it worth it to upgrade to 1.6? (when it goes gold?)
1.4.13 seems very stable, and i modified it quite a bit (core code) to my liking. The only reason so far for upgrading to me is performance.
Anyone of the betatesters can shine some light on this?
awaiting......... too
Seeing as there's not really been any real focus on optimization... not really.

There are no 'beta testers' per se, anyone can test the code...
It shouldn't have got slower, put it that way.
You will have to upgrade at some point. If i were you, i'd wait about 3-4 months. Wait, that is my plan already.
There has been a bit of optimization in certain rare conditions but I don't think there is going to be a noticeable change. Generation times in tenth's of seconds is already pretty fast.
Thanks for the answers, i 'll wait with upgrading then till 1.6 is as stable as 1.4.13.
Well, I prepare and copying big data into 1.6 right now..
Basic answer:
Do you want the new features of 1.6 or not?
Performance is number one, for me.
Others can follow then

So you'll wait until the final maintenance release...??
