I've got suspended yesterday due to 100% cpu usuage for quite a long period of time, got it down to xmlhttp.php and search.php other sites are running at normal speed but the whole of my myBB installation seems sluggish, any ideas why? Nothing has been added or anything to the forums in a while...
Your board uses 100% CPU !! I think your site was encountered by some automated bots which used xmlhttp.php and search.php randomly. Was it open for guest? I am feelin sorry for you.
Any plugins?? If you've not changed anything it's unlikely anything in MyBB itself is the cause, wouldn't spike for no reason... can you see any high activity in the server logs??

Just found two IP addresses accessing xmlhttp.php so will check them out. it seems to be the shoutbox infact.
Ah, yes shoutboxes often cause high load.
xmlhttp.php is used by all things AJAX, so the shoutbox would be a likely suspect. Perhaps there's a setting so it doesn't refresh so often.
